We draw our inspiration from Atlas Shrugged when naming our fund.  Ayn Rand’s work resonates with us on three dimensions – firstly, we believe by striving and innovating with all our might, we can arrive at our desired destination; secondly, we believe objectivism, which espouses the idea that reality exists independently of consciousness and we access reality through sense perceptions precisely describes our investment process and our continuous endeavor to approach an objective understanding of reality; thirdly, the work’s initial negligence by the public and later rise to classics status remind us the indelible truth of Horace’s eternal verdict of the vicissitudes of fate, that “many shall be restored that now are fallen, and many shall fall that now are in honor” – such is the inescapable cycle of successful value investing.
